One killed as BRTC bus hits motorcycle

A motorcyclist was injured and his pillion was killed when a bus of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) hit their motorbike in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sultan Ahmed, 48, elder brother of the motorcyclist Khairul Islam who was injured in the accident. They are the sons of late Abdul Jabbar of Akborpur village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station Porimal Kumar said the accident took place around 8:00am in the area when a bus of BRTC hit a motorbike carrying the duo.

The accident left Sultan dead on the spot and Khairul injured critically, he said.

Sultan’s body was handed over to his family and the critically injured Khairul was admitted to Patnitala health complex, the OC added.
