Moderate quake jolts Rangpur

A moderate earthquake jolted Rangpur and adjoining areas of the district on Saturday.

The quake felt in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha and at different places in India.

The 5 magnitude earthquake was felt at 6:55pm (Bangladesh time).

Mostafizur Rahman of Rangpur Met office said the epicenter of the earthquake was Asam Pradesh in India, 288km north from Dhaka.
