Driver, helper killed in road accident

A trolley driver and his assistant have been killed in a collision with a truck. 

The accident took place on Kushtia-Bheramara Highway in 10 Mile area around 8.30am on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Shukur Ali, 35, the trolley driver, and his assistant Alamin, 18.

Shukur Ali was the son of Mohor Uddin Sheikh at Bahirchar village and Alamin was son of Atar Ali of the village.

According to police, the accident took place as a truck hit their vehicle, leaving the duo dead on the spot. The bodies were sent to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

Police seized the truck, but its driver managed to flee from the spot.
