Man arrested with body stolen from grave

A man has been arrested with a body stolen from grave of Chuargram under Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha on Sunday.

The arrestee was known as Khalekur Fakir Ali of Kapasia village of the area.

Mehedi Hassan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “Safer Uddin of Chuargram braced natural death recently. He was buried in family graveyard. Khalekur exhumed decomposed body and was fleeing to take it by van. People noticed the matter and nabbed him with the body. They handed over Khalekur with the body to police.

Later, police handed over the body to family for burial again.

A case was filed with the local police station in this connection.
