Fugitive death row convict arrested

Police have arrested a death row convict from Chattogram metropolitan city.

The arrestee is Md Rubel, 34, son of Md Kamal.

He was arrested from city’s EPZ area on Tuesday (April 7).

Md Nezam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Baklia Police Station, confirmed the matter.

A court in Chattogram awarded death sentence to Rubel for killing CNG auto-rickshaw driver Md Yusuf in 2008, the OC said.

Since then, he remained fugitive, he cited.
