Boy with coronavirus symptoms dies in Savar

A 13-year-old boy with coronavirus symptoms has died in Savar.

The boy died at his residence in Chhayabithi area of Savar upazila yesterday (April 12).

Savar upazila health and family planning official Dr Sayemul Huda said his blood sample was collected and later it was sent to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for test.

Father of the deceased said his son had been suffering from pneumonia for last three months and fever, cold and cough for last one month.

AFM Sayed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said the boy who died with coronavirus symptoms was buried with the help of a volunteering group.

Following the death, his house was put under lockdown, he added.
