Son arrested for killing his father

Police has arrested a man for killing his father in Khagrachari district.

The incident took place in Kalabagan area of Khagrachari sadar upazila on Friday night.

The arrestee is Jahangir Alam, president of Khagrachari district unit’s Bangabandhu Soinik League.

The victim is Alef Khan, a retired bank official and a part time teacher of a private university.

According to locals, Jahangir Alam used to beat his father for money. On Friday night, he was also beating his father and one stage, suffocated him to death.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khagrachari Sadar Thana said victim’s daughter Anoara Khanam filed a case in this connection.
