All cops of Kazipur quarantined, building lockdown

All members of Kazipur Police Station in Sirajganj were put under quarantine and the building was declared lockdown after three of them had been detected with coronavirus positive.

Kazipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Zahid Hassan Siddique confirmed the news on Friday afternoon.

Additional Superintendent of Police (AS) in Sirajganj (Sadar and Kazipur Circle) Snigdha Akter said an Inspector, two Sub-Inspectors (SIs), two assistan Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and 12 constables were deployed in Kazipur to keep law and order situation under control there. They will perform their duties from upazila Banlo.

Sirajganj Civil Surgeon Dr Md Zahidul Islam said, “Of the three coronavirus infected cops, two are being given treatment at their respective home while another was admitted to Bagbati 31-bed Covid 19 dedicated hospital. Collecting samples of those came in contacts of the infected cops is under process.

Mentionable, a total of 9 people including the three cops and two health workers were detected with coronavirus positive in Sirajganj on Thursday, raising the total number of infected patients in the district to 18.
