Village doctor dies of coronavirus at Senbag

A village doctor has died of coronavirus at Senbag upazila in Noakhali.

He breathed his last on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the capital.

The doctor was known as Monirul Islam Manik, 30, son of Master Nurul Islam of Idilpur village of the upazila.

Senbag Upazila Health Officer Dr Motiur Rahman confirmed the news around 3:00pm on Wednesday.

He said, “Sample of Monirul was collected on June 1. He was confirmed of contracting coronavirus in the report on June 5. Later, he was taken to Dhaka after his health condition deteriorated. There, he died.”

Mentionable, a total of 66 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Senbag Upazila so far. Of them, 6 died.
