Tangail coronavirus cases reach 296

Thirteen more coronavirus patients have been detected in Tangail, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 296.

Dr Mohammad Wahiduzzaman, civil surgeon of Tangail, came up with the information on Saturday (June 13).

Of those newly infected, two are from Tangail Sadar upazila, nine from Mirzapur upazila, one each from Ghatail and Nagarpur upazilas, the civil surgeon said.

Samples of 138 people were collected from different upazilas of the district on June 7 and later those were sent to Dhaka for tests. This morning, reports of 13 people came back COVID-19 positive, he said.

Of those infected originally, six patients have died and 88 recovered so far in the district, he mentioned.
