Tk. 9mn of BRAC Bank looted in Sylhet

SYLHET, Sept 29: Unidentified miscreants on Sunday have looted Tk. 9 million from a BRAC Bank official at Sylhet’s South Surma.

The incident took place at Lalbazar of the city on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at around 3:15pm.

BRAC Bank’s Sylhet Customer Service Manager Gawhar Altaf Chowdhury said he was carrying Tk 9 million in a bag from the bank’s South Surma to its Biswanath branch. Sohel Ahmed Chowdhury was the driver of the microbus he was travelling in.

Two motorcycles with a total five riders blocked their path when they reached Lalbazar and snatched away the bag by brandishing sharp weapon.
