Charge sheet pressed against Dr Sabrina, 7 others

Detective Branch (DB) of police pressed charges against JKG Health Care Chairman and cardiac surgeon of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury and seven others in a fraud case filed for allegedly issuing fake Covid-19 results.

Detective Branch of police inspector Liakat Ali, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) in Dhaka.

The accused named in the charge sheet are Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JKG Ariful Haque Chowdhury, also the husband of Dr Sabrina Chowdhury; his associate Sayeed Chowdhury; Humayun Kabir and his wife Tanjina Patwary; Shafikul Islam; JKG’s trade license proprietor Jebunnesa Rima; Biplob Das and Mamunur Rashid.

All of the accused are currently in jail.
