Allama Shafi was killed in planned way: Family

Family members have claimed that Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, former amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, was killed in a planned way. Family members have also demanded of the government to form a judicial inquiry committee to investigate into the matter.

The family members came up with the claim at a press conference held at the Chattogram Press Club on Saturday noon.  Allama Shafi's family members were present at the press conference.

They also demanded steps to stop the council of a section of Hefazat-e-Islam to be held on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that Allama Shafi died while undergoing treatment at Azgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka in the evening of September 18. The next day he was buried next to Darul Uloom Muinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari.

Ahmad Shafi joined the post of Director General of Hathazari Madrasa in 1986. He had been in that position for 34 consecutive years since then.
