Hefazat-e-Islam leader Maulana Mamunul Haque, who has recently been featured for different controversial statements including issuing a threat to dump Bangabandhu’s sculpture in the river, is not visiting Chattagram’s Hathazari Madrasa.

Quoting Tafsirul Mahfil Organiser in the upazila Al-Amin, Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ruhul Amin said this on Friday (November 27) afternoon.

Meanwhile, students of different madrasas are spreading promotion and publicity that Maulana Mamunul Haque has already reached Hathazari Madrasa. But no evidence has yet been found over the matter.

On the contrary, leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) have taken positions at different points of Chattogram city to resist Mamunul Haque.

They took positions in different areas including Chattogram Airport, GEC of the city, Oxygen and different places of the city to resist Mamunul Haque.

When asked, Hathazari UNO Ruhul Amin told risingbd around 3:45 pm that Mamunul Haque is not coming Hathazari. Oganising agency, different Hefazat-e-Islam leaders and members of Hathazari Madrasa Shura Committee confirmed this.
