Police officer killed in Gazipur road crash

A police officer was killed as a covered van ran over his motorcycle in Moghorkhal area of Gazipur this afternoon.

The deceased was known as Sub-Inspector (SI) Saifur Rahman, 50.

Gazipur metropolitan police sadar police station SI Saidur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Sources said, the police officer and a constable named Tauhidur Alam Tuhin were heading towards Gazipur industrial police lines riding a motorcycle around 5:00pm.

Meanwhile, a covered van hit their bike leaving them injured critically. Later, the injured were sent to Shaheed Taz Uddin Medical College Hospital where Saifur Rahman died under treatment.
