Bangabandhu’s sculpture vandalism: Case filed under Special Act

A case has been filed over vandalism of under construction sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shapla intersection in Kushtia district town under the Special Power Act 1974.

Police filed the case with Kushtia Model Police Station on Sunday (December 6).

Abul Kalam Azad, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station, confirmed the matter.

Four people, who were held over the incident on Saturday night, were arrested in the case. They are:  Abu Bakar alias Mithun, 19, student of Madrasa Ibn Masud and son of Samresh Mridha of Shingpur village under Mirpur upazila, Al Amin, 27, teacher of the madrasa and son of Abdur Rahman of Dhubil village of the upazila, Sabuj Islam alias Nahid, 20, son of Samsul Alam of Filifnagar village of Daulatpur upazila and Yunus Ali, 27, son of Azizul Mondal of Diar Bamundi village of Pabna district.
