Municipality Polls 4th Phase: Akbar elected as mayor in Rangamati

Awami League-backed Akbar Hossain Chowdhury has become the new mayor of Rangamati municipality, winning the election with 22,801 votes.
His closest competition BNP candidate Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun got 6,935 votes.
Confirming the matter, District senior election officer Md Shafiqur Rahman said, a total of 33,732 votes were cast.
Earlier, voting in 55 municipalities has begun in the fourth phase on Sunday. The voting started at 8:00 am and continued till 4:00 pm without any break.
