Three killed in Tarakanda road crash

At least three people have been killed as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh.

The accident took place around 11.30am on Wednesday in Khicha area of Mymensingh-Netrokona highway.

Officer-in-Charge of Tarakanda Thana Abul Khaer said a Netrokona-bound truck hit a Mymensingh-bound auto-rickshaw, leaving one dead on the spot. Two died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. All were the auto-rickshaw passengers.

The deceased were Shahidul Islam Shahid, 33, auto-rickshaw driver who hailed from Uttar Ujirkona village under Durgapur upazila, Khalil Mia at Ramnagar, 32, and Masum, 28, at Alampur village.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee from the spot.
