5 more die of coronavirus-like symptoms in Satkhira

A total of five people have died from coronavirus-like symptoms in the border district Satkhira in the last 24 hours.

Dr. Manas Kumar Mandal, focal person at the corona unit of Satkhira Medical College Hospital, confirmed the news.

The deaths were reported from 8:00am on Friday (August 06) to 8:00am on Saturday (August 07).

So far, at least 572 people died of symptoms similar to that of coronavirus in the Satkhira district, he said.

Besides, a total of 85 people died of coronavirus infections so far in the district.

Manas Kumar Mandal said some 25 people tested positive for the virus over the same period, raising the total number of people infected in the district to 6,000. Out of them, 4,800 patients have made recoveries from the virus so far.
