The truth to be revealed soon: Barishal city mayor

Barishal city Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah has said that the truth would be revealed soon. Nobody will be able to hide the truth. 

“If I have done any wrong, I have no right to be in this chair,” he added.

He made the statement in a press briefing at his Kalibari home in the city on Saturday (August 21) evening.

The mayor said, “If I did any offence or someone from my party Awami League did any crime, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will judge. I will not run away. If I am asked, I will come to the police station myself.”

He, however, demanded the whole video of the night be released, not part of that.

Mayor Sadiq also claimed his innocence and demanded a fair trial for the incident carried out at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s house.

Urging the officials and employees of the city corporation to join the work, the city mayor said, “You join the work. If you do not work, the city dwellers will suffer.”

Mayor Sadiq Abdullah also urged the law enforcers not to search the houses of the officials and employees of the city corporation and not to harass them.
