Roadway of Padma Bridge becomes visible from Mawa to Jajira

About 6.15km roadway for vehicular movement of the Padma Bridge has become visible from Mawa to Jajira after installation of the last roadway slab.
Local and foreign engineers successfully installed the last roadway slab on Monday morning.
Chief Engineer of Padma Multipurpose Bridge Dewan Md Abdul Quader confirmed the news.
Dewan Md. Abdul Quader said the work of Padma Bridge went one step further. Besides, the work of installing gas line through the middle of Padma Bridge has started. At the same time, the work of the railway line is also coming to an end. The entire work will be completed before June next year. Meanwhile, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader came to the Padma Bridge project area and announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would inaugurate the bridge any day in June of 2022. So far, 94.50 percent of the work has been completed.
A total of 2,917 slabs were installed on the bridge. The first slab was installed on March 19 in 2019 while the installation of railway slab started from September 2018.
