Five students who went to get vaccine were forced to do sit-ups holding their ears in Dhamrai in the capital on Wednesday (January 12).
In a video, the students were seen facing the punishment in front of the public at the third floor of upazila parishad building around 12:00 pm.
Witnesses said, the vaccination campaign was started there around 9:00 am. Two separate lines were formed due to the additional pressure of the crowd. At one stage, some students wanted to go to the third floor-crossing a boundary wall.
Meanwhile, Ansar members detained five students and formed them to do sit-ups for breaching security.
Dhamrai upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Hossain Mohammad Hye Jocki said, it’s unclear what actually happened there. But, security officials found that some boys tried to climb a ladder. Later, they were released as they sought an apology.
