Drug dealer held in Sirajganj, microbus seized

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) arrested a drug dealer with 172 grams of Heroin and seized a microbus used to trade drugs in Sirajganj.

The arrestee was identified as Shoriful Islam Mohon, 39, from Chorbhoyra village in Shariatpur.

RAB-12 Assistant Superintendent of Police (Media Officer) Md Mustafizur Rahman confirmed the matter through a press release issued on Tuesday (February 15).

On secret information, a team of RAB-12 conducted a drive in Salanga under Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj and arrested Shoriful from in front of Rubaiya Hotel and Restaurant located at Charia Kandapara area of Salanga, Mustafizur said.

During the drive, the elite force seized 172 grams of Heroin along with a microbus from his possession.

The estimated market value of the seized Heroin is Tk 8 lakh 60 thousand, he said.

The RAB officer further said a case was filed with Salanga Police Station against the arrestee under the Narcotics Control Act. Besides, the arrestee was handed over to the police station along with the recovered evidence.
