5 wells of Bibiyana gas field start production

Five closed wells at the Bibiyana gas field have started production in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj. One wells of the gas field have still remained closed.

Sheikh Jahidur Rahman, spokesperson of Chevron Bangladesh confirmed the matter on Thursday evening (April 7).

He said, gas production has started at three wells on Tuesday morning, one in the evening and one more on Thursday morning. Another one will also start gas production soon.

Earlier, on Sunday (April 3), sand was found in one of the wells in Bibiyana gas field forcing the authorities to shut down extraction in six wells.
