Man shot during Eid congregation in Cumilla

A man was shot during Eid congregation at Golabari area near border under Sadar upazila in Cumilla.

The incident took place on Tuesday (May 03) morning.

Sahidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kotwali Model Police Station in Cumilla, confirmed the matter.

He said, “Those involved in the incident fled away. However, we are conduction drives. Details in this regard would revealed later.”

Quoting eyewitnesses, he said, “Rubel Bhuiyan shot at Mostak Ahmed due to previous enmity at Golabari area. Other devotees started moving to and fro in the ground during the incident.”

He further said, “Bullet-hit Mostak was taken to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital. He received bullet on right knee.”

Mostak’s younger brother Monir said, “Rubel beat me too some days ago. Earlier, he made showdown with arms at Chawkbazar area in the city at broad day light.”
