19 injured in Manikganj lightning strike

At least 19 people were injured in lightning strike after they went to watch football match at Jagir Bridge area of sadar upazila in Manikganj on Friday (July 15) afternoon. Of them, three are in critical state.

The injured were known as Abdul Latif, Ismail, Alamgir, Arif, Wasim, Azizul Hakim, Mokles, Razzak, Shamim, Fahim, Jahidul, Sajeeb, Razib, Faruk, Shibu Mia, Biplob Hossain, Rois Uddin, Lutfor Rahman and Badsha Mia. They all are residents of different villages of the district’s sadar, Saturia and Singair upazila. They were admitted to Manikganj 250-bed General Hospital.

Shamima Akter, physician of the hospital’s emergency department, said, “Of the injured, three are in critical condition. The injured were suggested for movement.”
