Panchagarh boat capsize: Death toll rises to 39

Seven more dead bodies were recovered over the incident of boat capsize in Panchagarh’s Korotoa River, rising the death toll to 39.
Many more have still remained missing in connection with the trawler capsize.
Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense (Operation) from Dhaka, Lt Col Zillur Rahman confirmed the information on Monday (September 26).
He said, “A total of 24 bodies were recovered on Sunday (September 25) after the engine-run trawler capsized in Karatoya in Boda upazila of Panchagarh.”
The trawler carrying 60-70 passengers, including women and children, sank in the middle of the river while heading towards Badheshwar Temple on the occasion of Mayalaya around 2:30pm Sunday.
