A bridge to be built on accident spot, says Minister

Railways Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujan said, a bridge will be built on the accident spot in Aulia Ghat of Boda upazila in Panchagarh.

The minister made the announcement while addressing reporters after distributing cash taka and other items among the boat victims of Karatoya River on Thursday (September 29).

He said, the construction will be started in next year. The issue gets ECNEC approval. A total of 28 bridges will be built under this project.

The government has come forward instantly to support the victims of tragic boat capsize in Karatoya River. Following the directions from the Prime Minister, all kinds of humanitarian aids are being provided, the minister added.

Earlier, a boat carrying 60-70 passengers, including women and children, sank in the middle of the river while heading towards Badheshwar Temple on the occasion of Mayalaya on Sunday (September 25) noon.
