Elderly couple found dead in locked room

Police recovered the half-decomposed bodies of an elderly couple from a locked room at Shakchar-1 village in Shakchar union under the sadar upazila of Lakshmipur on Monday (October 17) night.

The deceased were identified as Abu Siddik, 73, and his wife Atorer Nesa, 65. 

Md Mahfuzzaman Ashraf, superintendent of Lakshmipur police, confirmed the matter to risingbd.

Being informed by locals, police rushed to the spot as bad odor was coming out from the room of the couple, SP Mahfuzzaman said.

Later, police recovered the bodies around 9pm breaking the door, he said.

He added that the bodies were sent to a hospital morgue for autopsy.
