‘National leaders were killed to destroy Bengali state structure’

Awami League Presidium Member and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said four national leaders and heroes of the country’s Liberation War— Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman— were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail to destroy the Bengali state structure.

Khairuzzaman Liton, also the son of AHM Quamruzzaman, said this in a statement, marking the Jail Killing Day on Thursday (November 3).

“After the brutal murder of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15 in 1975, four national leaders and heroes of the country’s Liberation War— Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman— were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail on November 3 in 1975. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the national four leaders liberated Bangladesh, playing a key role in the War of Liberation. The four national leaders were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail to destroy the Bengali state structure,” Khairuzzaman Liton said.
