Bangladeshi loses leg in landmine blast near Myanmar border

A Bangladeshi national has lost a leg in a landmine explosion along Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
The victim was known as Belal, son of Abdul Hakim, hailed from Garzania Hazirpara of Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Locals said, the explosion took place when he drifted across the border to bring back his cows. One of his legs was blown off from knee down in the explosion.
Naikhongchhari sadar union parishad Chairman Nurul Absar, said a youth was injured in a land mine explosion. He is admitted in a hospital in Cox’s Bazar.
Naikhongchhari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tantu Saha confirmed the matter.
