11.5kg gold seized, one held

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate two drives detained a man along with gold weighing 11.738 kg from Jadavpur border of Moheshpur upazila under Jhenaidah and Nimtola area of Danurhuda upazila under Chuadanga.

The detainee is Abdus Sukur, son of Tobir Rahman from Notunpara village in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga.

Lt Col Shahin Azad, commander of 58 BGB, confirmed arrest of the man and seizure of the gold at a press conference held around 8 pm on Tuesday (November 29).

The market value of the seized gold is approximately Tk 8.5 crore.
