Bus kills two in Dinajpur

Two people, including a woman, were killed after a bus hit their motorcycle at Birampur upazila in Dinajpur district on Wednesday (December 7).

The accident took place on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway at Tatokpur Beldanga crossing around 9:00 am.

The deceased were identified as Sohel Rana, 38, son of Lokman Ali and Selina Begum, 28, daughter of Rustam Ali.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Birampur Police Station Sumon Kumar Mohonta said a bus of BRTC heading for Rangpur from Naogaon smashed a motorcycle from the opposite direction, leaving its riders Sohel and Selina to fall onto the ground.

They were rescued by locals and taken to Birampur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared them dead, the OC said.
