‘Those who burn people to death how can stand by people’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has said those who have smuggled wealth abroad, looted and burnt people alive without developing the country, how they can stand by the people. BNP has not given anything to the country’s people during its tenure, instead it created fire, money laundering, extortion, militancy and terrorism in the country by colluding with Jamaat. The only goal of the Awami League government is the overall development of every region of this country and the well-being of the people.

The premier said this addressing the public rally organized by Cox’s Bazar District Awami League at Cox’s Bazar Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (December 7) afternoon.

Sheikh Hasina said, “Khaleda-Tarique’s work was to embezzle orphans’ money and to smuggle wealth abroad. They do not want peace in the country. One of them is still serving the sentence in the arms case. On August 21, they carried out a grenade attack. They can do nothing but arson terrorism.

She said, “This Cox’s Bazar was a very favorite place of Bangabandhu. He used to bring us here every year. Many memories are associated with the father of the nation. BNP-Jamaat never wanted development of Cox’s Bazar. They did nothing here. After losing my parents in 1975, my struggle for the liberation of the people of this country began. After Awami League came to power, development activities are going on in Cox’s Bazar one by one. I have inaugurated 29 projects today. We have laid the foundation stone of four projects. There are many more projects going on.”

The Awami League President said, “We did not let the faith of those who trusted us and voted in the boat in 2008, 2014 and 2018 go in vain. We have delivered development to every region of Cox’s Bazar and continue it. Arrangements are underway to develop Cox’s Bazar as an international tourist spot. The airport here is being made international. Where local and foreign tourists can touch the sea water. Apart from this, the Awami League government has arranged for the shelter of distressed people including climate refugees. Not only that, complexes are being built here for various cultural programs and sports.
