Four launches cancel trips on Dhaka-Barishal route

Four launches have canceled trips on Dhaka-Barishal route due to passenger shortage.

The four launches from Barisal will not leave for Dhaka on Friday (December 9).

Barishal BIWT’s Naval Safety and Traffic Management Department Inspector Md Kabir confirmed the matter on Friday (December 9) at 6:00 pm.

He said, “Due to the passenger crisis, Prince Awlad, Parabat 18, Surabhi 7 and Sundarban 11 have canceled the journey from Barishal to Dhaka. Only the Parabat 11 launch will transport passengers to Dhaka. Even from Dhaka, only the Shubharaj launch will transport passengers to Barishal. Besides, Farhan 7 will go from Dhaka to Jhalkathi via Barishal.

Parabat 11 launch staff Suman said the number of passengers is low due to the BNP rally in Dhaka.

Besides, no launch left for Dhaka from Jhalkathi and Barguna.
