Election Commissioner (EC) Anisur Rahman has said that the 1.5 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) of the previous commission are being verified. After verification, the EVMs will be used for elections again.
He said this in response to a query from reporters in Chandpur on Sunday (January 29) afternoon.

He said, “The previous commission bought 1.5 lakh EVMs. Many elections in the country have been conducted with these EVMs. Some of these EVMs are out of order. We are verifying all the EVMs, after verification the EVMs will be used for voting again.”
The Election Commissioner further said, “The commission will do whatever it takes to create a fair and beautiful election environment. After that, if no party comes to the election, the commission has no legal obligation.”
