Expelled BNP leader Sattar wins Brahmanbaria-2 by-polls

Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan, former adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who later expelled from the party, has won Brahmanbaria-2 by-elections as an independent candidate.
The information was confirmed by the district returning officer’s office around 7:15 pm on Wednesday (February 1).
According to unofficial the results, Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan secured 44,817 votes. His nearest rival, Jatiya Party candidate Abdul Hamid Bhasani, bagged 9,581 votes.
