Case filed over lynching two workers to death, 4 arrested

A case has been filed with Boalia Police Station of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) over lynching two construction workers to death on suspicion of theft.

Wife of one of the deceased filed the case on Thursday (February 2) night.

Meanwhile, four people who were held over the incident were shown arrested in the case and sent to jail.

Arrestees were known as Md Abdullah, 38, owner of Modern Foods in Sopura BICIC Industrial Area of Rajshahi city, his father-in-law Masum Reza, 50, brother-in-law Moin Uddin, 19, and employee Md Imran, 21).

Earlier, two construction workers were lynched at the residence of the owner of Modern Foods in Sopura BICIC Industrial Area of Rajshahi city on Thursday night.


Being informed, Boalia Model Thana Police rescued two injured workers around 9.30pm and sent them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. One was declared dead at the emergency unit, and other died while taking treatment at the hospital.

The deceased were known as Rakibul Islam, 35, son of Golam Mostafa in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj, and Rezaul Karim, son of Abdus Samad in Manda upazila of Naogaon.  Rezaul used to live Terokhadia Dabtala area of Rajshahi city.
