Case filed for alleged rape attempt to fourth grader

A case has been filed for attempted rape of a class IV student at Betagi in Barguna.
The incident took place at South Bholanathpur village of Betagi Sadar union on Thursday (February 2) afternoon.
According to the case statement, two youths named Sabbir and Al Amin of the same area took the girl to a secluded house and tried to rape her on her way to school. Later, the girl ran away after biting on Sabbir’s waist and hands. The victim’s mother filed a case with Betagi Police Station on Friday (February 3) morning.
The plaintiff in the case said, “My daughter is still shaking with fear. We decided to file a case after the girl’s father came home on Thursday night. I want maximum punishment for the accused. No child is safe from such people.”
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Betagi police station Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter and said, “Efforts are underway to arrest the accused.”
