5 SUST students expelled for ragging

Five students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have been expelled temporarily on charge of ragging junior students in Syed Mujtoba Ali Hall of the university.

SUST proctor Dr Kamruzzaman Chowdhury has confirmed the matter to the reporters.

However, names of the expelled students could not be known immediately.

Dr Kamruzzaman Chowdhury said five students of Business Administration department have been temporarily expelled in view of the complaint of a victim of ragging. Apart from this, an investigation committee has been formed with convenor Professor Dr Khairul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Administration. University administration will take further action subject to the investigation.
