Road accident leaves five dead in Bogura

A bus hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogura on Thursday (February 23) noon, leaving five passengers of the auto rickshaw dead and two others injured.

The accident took place on second bypass road in Sujabad Dahopara area of the upazila.

Of the deceased, three people were identified and they were auto rickshaw driver Hazrat Ali, 50, Golam Rabbani, and passenger Nur Nabi Badsha, 60.

A Dhaka-bound bus hit the auto rickshaw in the area losing control, leaving four passengers of the later vehicle dead on the spot and two others injured, said Mohammad Ali, sub-inspector (SI) of Shahjahanpur police station.

The injured people were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura, the police official said.
