Four killed in fire breaks out after explosion in Sitakunda oxygen plant

At least four people have reportedly been killed as a fire has broken out in an oxygen plant after an explosion at Kadamrasulpur are of Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram. Some 30 people have also been injured in the incident.

The incident took place at Sima Oxygen Plant of the area around 4:00 pm on Saturday (March 4). Being informed, that six units of firefighters rushed to the spot and started rescue efforts.

Chattogram Fire Service Station Officer Enamul Haque confirmed the matter.

He said, “Bodies of four people have been recovered so far. Some 30 people have been injured. Number casualties feared to be increased.

Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tofael Ahmed said, “We are currently on the spot. It cannot be surely said right now how the incident took place.”
