BGB seizes 2 lakh yaba pills in Teknaf

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized two lakh pieces of yaba tablet from Shashanghat area of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

BGB personnel, in a drive, recovered the tablets on Friday night.

Lt. Col. Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekher, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-2 in Teknaf, said acting on tip-off, a team of BGB battalion-2 conducted an operation in Shashanghat area of the Naf river. Smugglers opened fire on RAB personnel, forcing them to back fire. At one stage, the smugglers managed to escape leaving huge number of yaba pills.

A case is being filed in this connection, he said.
