Man hacked dead by elder brother

A young man was allegedly hacked to death by his elder brother at Nasirnagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Saturday (March 18) morning.

The victim was Dulal Mia, 25, a resident of Dharmandal village of the upazila.

Police detained Dulal’s elder brother Phul Mia in connection with the incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nasirnagar Police Station Habibullah Sarkar said accused Phul Mia hacked his younger brother Dulal with a sharp weapon during an argument in the morning at their home.

Locals rescued Dulal in critical condition and took him to Nasirnagar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor referred him to Dhaka for better treatment. Dulal died on the way to Dhaka.

The OC said the body has been recovered and sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
