23 to walk gallows for killing in Madaripur

A court in Madaripur has sentenced 23 people to death and six others to life imprisonment in the murder of Rajib Sarder a decade ago.

Madaripur Additional District and Sessions Judge Lailatul Ferdous passed the order on Tuesday afternoon (March 21). according to state prosecutor Siddiqur Rahman.

The court’s public prosecutor (PP) Siddiqur Rahman Singh confirmed the matter.

The court also acquitted four other accused in the case.

According to the case statement, the victim was returning home after doing his tasks in his uncle Ali Hawladar’s nursery on September 1, 2012. Following previous enmity, the convicted person attacked Razib Sardar in Harikumaria area of municipality, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was taken to Madaripur Sadar hospital and shifted to Dhaka. But he died on the way to Dhaka.
