55 shops gutted in Thanchi fire

Around 55 shops were burnt to ashes in a fire at Thanchi Bazar in Bandarban on Saturday morning.

Sub Officer of Thanchi Fire Station Md Ismail Mia confirmed the news.

The fire originated around 8.30am from a tea stall. Being informed, several units of fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 11.30am, he said.

The loss of the fire may be Tk 5-6 crore.
