Rohingya man held with one lakh Yaba pills

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained a Rohingya youth with one lakh Yaba pills from Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

The detainee is Ali Johor, 34, son of Nur Salam of Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhiya upazila.

Shamsul Alam Khan, Assistant Director of RAB-15 (Law and Media), confirmed this information around 9 am on Saturday (March 25).

He said acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a raid at Kutupalong Rohingya camp bazar around 4:30pm on Friday (March 24) and detained the man along with one lakh contraband yaba pills.

Legal steps will be taken against the detainee, the official added.
