Three Rohingya laborers killed in Ukhiya landslide

Three Rohingya labourers were killed in a landslide while they were cutting mud from a hill in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in Muhuripara area of Ukhiya sadar upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Thana Sheikh Mohammad Ali confirmed the news.

Two of the deceased are identified as Jahid Hossain, 23, son of Abdul Mutaleb, and Syed Akbar, 20, son of Mohammad Wares.

In-Charge of Ukhiya Fire Service Station Emdadul Haq said they recovered the three dead bodies from the mud.

The dead bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
