Lightning strike kills child in Mymensingh

A 12-year-old boy was killed in a lightning strike at Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh district on Wednesday morning (March 29).

The deceased was known as Zihad, son of Md Ziauddin, a resident of Kharua Makunda village under Rawna union in the upazila.

Sources said Jihad went to fly a kite near his house in the morning. At that time, a sudden lightning struck on him, leaving him seriously injured. Later, he was taken to upazila health complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Gafargaon police station (OC) Md Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter.
