Shaheed Chandu Stadium upheld as BCB venue

Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura has finally got back its status as the venue of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The venue was officially launched after a meeting between BCB and district sports bodies on Saturday (April 8) afternoon.

Bogura District Sports Association President and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saiful Islam has confirmed the matter.

DC Saiful Islam said Bogura Shaheed Chandu Stadium remained as BCB’s venue due to everyone’s efforts. The venue was officially handed over today. From now on, National League and BCB matches will be held in coordination at this stadium.

At that time, he thanked State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel and BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon and other officials of the organization.

Mentionable, on March 1, BCB decided to pack the manpower and goods from the international cricket venue Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura. Along with that, all the officers and employees of Bogura appointed by BCB were withdrawn. According to the decision, BCB men started the work of removing the goods.

BCB had blamed the Bogura District Sports Association for the decision. However, Masudur Rahman Milon, General Secretary of the District Sports Association, countered that the allegation was baseless.
